Silver Alert Issued for Couple Missing in Logan County

The Logan County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing elderly couple who got lost west of Marshall on their way to Enid.

ENID, Oklahoma – The Logan County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing elderly couple who got lost west of Marshall on their way to Enid.

L.E. Howerton and his wife Nadine called 911 at about 12:30 p.m. and told deputies they were stuck in the mud and didn't know where they were.

The 84-year-old is described as a white male and is bald or may have some hair that is gray in color. He weighs about 200 pounds and usually wears dark colored slacks with a button-up shirt.

Nadine Howerton is 81-years-old, and described as white, 5'2", weighing about 250 pounds and has blue eyes. She may also be wearing a light brown wig.

Mr. Howerton does suffer from dementia and his wife has recently had a stroke and is severely disabled.

Deputies do not know the exact whereabouts of the Howertons but when the phone pinged, it came back to a location around the area of Highway 74 and County Road 64. Authorities have searched the area but have not been able to find the elderly man and woman. Deputies have made multiple attempts to contact the couple via telephone and were unable to make contact with them.

The couple was driving a 2007 white Lincoln Town Car with the Oklahoma tag 077BAC.
