Former Duncan High School Band Teacher Facing Rape Charges

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A former high school band teacher is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning to face rape charges involving a student.

Jeremy James Smith was arrested on rape charges last May in Stephens County after it was discovered he was allegedly having a relationship with an 18-year-old student at Duncan High School.

Investigators said they were alerted to what was happening after the student lost her cell phone, which contained explicit messages from Smith.
