OKLAHOMA CITY -- Firework safety warning have been sent out this Fourth of July, but what about safety tips for your pets?

Pets, especially dogs can go to extremes to get away from the loud noises and they often get hurt doing so.

This year's Fourth of July, keep your pets safe and calm by keeping them indoors.

"Put them in a room with no windows, play the radio or the television, use some background white noise and that way they don't even know what's happening," said Veterinary Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald.

The best advice for anyone - leave the fireworks to the pros.
