YUKON, Oklahoma -- For as long as she can remember, Linda Israel has been making arts and crafts using everyday items. She's so good at what she does, she landed a spot on HGTV.

Her lifetime collection of everything art covers every corner of her workshop and her passion started from needles and threads. When Israel was little, she used recycled clothes to dress up her Barbie dolls.

Israel is a multi-media artist who turns trash into treasure and recycles items into masterpieces.

"I Use a mint tin and turn that into a sewing tin so you can take that with you and put it in your desk and it would look nice," said Israel.

After turning in her work to HGTV several years ago, the network is now featuring her in a show called "That's Clever."

"I couldn't believe it. I started calling and emailing all my friends and family and I said ‘I can't believe it. I'm going to be on the show, I'm going to be on the show.' It wasn't real until they showed up at my door and started filming," Israel said.

The crews came in for the 8 hour shoot featuring Israel in the half hour series highlighting the contemporary crafting scene from across the country.

"The whole concept is showcasing the artist from across the U.S. using their talents with everyday items and possibly be creative with big items so that others can be inspired by that," the Yukon artist said.

Israel works full time and being in her workshop is another full time job in itself that fills her with joy.

"I'm so excited. This is one of the best things that has happened to me because I can show people how to do something that I love doing, and you know make a little bit of money on the side," Israel said.

Her feature on HGTV will air Tuesday, June 29 at 6:30 a.m.
