Hominy Church Receives An 'Extreme Makeover' Thanks To Volunteers

HOMINY, OK -- The First Assembly Of God is getting an extreme church makeover thanks to an army of volunteers from area churches.

"We do one of these a year, and we chose to do this one," said Carbondale Assembly of God Youth Pastor Jeff Walker.  "Great church, great potential, just in need of some help."

The Hominy church members handed over the keys to their church and will be let back in this coming Wednesday after dozens of tradesmen, volunteer contractors and youth tear it apart and rebuild it.

"I hope that their jaws drop and that they are so overwhelmed by it that they are at a loss for words," said Michael Cunningham, a member of the Turley Assembly of God, whose church received a similar makeover last year.
