OKLAHOMA CITY – An early morning police chase ended in a crash in Canadian County.

Rickey Turpin was arrested on a complaint of domestic violence and eluding an officer.

Sheriff's deputies said Turpin is a suspect in an assault happened near the intersection of Reno Avenue and Sarah Road.

Authorities later spotted Turpin near Southwest 29th Street and Czech Hall Road and gave chase.

Deputies say the chase reached speeds of  up to 100 miles per hour before it ended after Turpin crashed near Southwest 44th Street and Sarah Road.

"He showed that he had no intent of stopping he had already committed serious crime and was believed to be armed with fire arm, so it caused serious concern for us," said Sgt. Mike Stilley with the Canadian County Sheriff's office. "If he were allowed to escape he would've injured the public."

Turpin was not injured. Deputies say they recovered a gun and a knife.

Turpin had outstanding warrants in Oklahoma, Canadian, and Latimer Counties.
