Search Crews Recover Lake Stanley Draper Drowning Victim
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City fire officials said search teams recovered the body of 29-year-old David Cox at Lake Stanley Draper after he drowned while swimming in the lake Friday afternoon.
Dive teams searched eight hours for Cox on Friday but had to call off operations for the night. Divers started the search again Saturday around 10 a.m. and found Cox's body about an hour later.
Fire officials said Cox tried to swim across a cove on Friday, got about half way, tried to swim back, but couldn't make it and went under.
Cox's family said he was out at the lake with his brother and two young sons, who are both under the age of 10.
