Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Police are investigating a shooting that killed one and injured another.

According to police, at about 6:40 p.m. officers were called to Deaconess Hospital regarding two gunshot victims. One of the victims, 18-year-old Omar Galaviz, was treated and released while the other victim, 19-year-old Joel Ortiz, was transferred to OU Medical Center where he died.

Police say they believe three men were in a SUV in the parking lot of the Wilshire East Apartments, 7500 block of Lyrewood Lane, when a man shot at the men after pulling up behind them and blocking them in.

Both victims were hit by the gunfire. Galaviz drove himself, Ortiz and another uninjured occupant to the hospital where police were called.

Police said the suspects fled in a bright red, newer model Ford F-150 pick-up truck with chrome wheels and door handles. The pick-up has damage to the driver's side.

Anyone with information should call the Homicide tip-line at 405-297-1200.
