OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two men lost their lives on Oklahoma roads late Saturday night, according to accident investigation reports by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Troopers say 19-year-old Craig Allen Smith of Ninnekah was lying in a county road when he was struck by a car at about 10:39 p.m. The accident took place on County Road 1390 about a half mile east of County Street 2880, roughly six miles east of Chickasha.
Smith died at the scene of head and internal trunk injuries, the report states. Chase Brown, the 21-year-old Norman man who was driving the car, was not injured.
A 51-year-old Duncan man was killed in a head-on collision between a car and a dirt bike on County Road East-West 179 near Nalley Road in Stephens County.
Troopers say Michael Kelly was west bound on a Honda 400 dirt bike at about 11:20 p.m. Saturday. His bike was hit head-on by a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Hurles Chase Anderson of Duncan while both vehicles were crossing a one-lane wooden bridge.
Kelly was thrown 69 feet from the point of impact and died at the scene from a head injury. The trooper's report states that Anderson's Pontiac was left of center and that Kelly was driving above the legal limit at the time of the crash.
No one in the car was injured. Kelly was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the report states.
