WOODWARD, Oklahoma -- Woodward County prosecutors say a 17-year-old girl accused of plotting to kill her foster parents has been sentenced to juvenile custody.

Ashley Jewell pleaded guilty to shooting with intent to kill and conspiracy to commit murder.

Assistant District Attorney Danny Lohmann says Jewell was sentenced as a youthful offender and will be detained until she is 18 years and five months old. She could be bridged into the adult system if she doesn't complete a treatment plan or violates rules.

Jewell and Kelsey Beames were living with Robert and Barbra Parker in October when officials say Jewell shot Robert Parker. The gun wouldn't fire when Beames tried to shoot Barbra Parker.

The Oklahoma Indigent Defense System didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
