OKLAHOMA CITY – One person has died in an apartment fire on the northwest side of the city.
A neighbor called 911 after smelling smoke. When crews arrived around 6:30 p.m., they had to kick in the door of the apartment at 3120 N.W. 36th Street.
Firefighters pulled a woman from the apartment, it was too late. The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Rebecca Hill.
The unit was a total loss. Oklahoma City Fire Department Investigators determined that the cause of the fatal apartment fire was accidental and appeared to be discarded smoking material. Damage was estimated at $10,000.
