Lightning Strike Causes $1 Million In Damages To Vinita Lumber Yard

VINITA, OK -- A portion of a Vinita business burned to the ground early Thursday morning.

The fire at the T.H. Rogers Lumber Company destroyed the company's home decorating center next door.

Vinita Fire was called to the scene shortly after 1:34 a.m. Thursday after getting report of a lightning strike on the building.

No one was injured in the fire which caused just under a million dollars in damage.

Vinita Fire was assisted in fighting the fire by the Centralia and Big Cabin Fire Departments.
