Victim Identified in Deadly Hit-and-Run

Oklahoma City police are searching for a man they say ran over two women early this morning.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police are searching for a man they say ran over two women early this morning.

The incident happened at 1721 N.W. 9th Street, near Indiana and Blackwelder avenues.

One of the victims, who was in critical condition at OU Medical Center, died. The other victim sustained minor injuries and is assisting police with the investigation.

The woman who died has been identified as Anna Roberta Lara of Oklahoma City.

Investigators believe the victims and the suspect knew each other. The victim who died was inside the suspect's vehicle, when the two began to argue. The victim got out of the car and was walking away with a friend when the suspect drove toward them and intentionally ran over the victim and friend. The suspect fled the scene.

"The suspect intentionally, from all appearances, ran over one of the," Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. "He was apparently trying to get to both of them."

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his twenties with severe acne and either very short hair or a shaved head with a three inch ponytail. The man was driving a dark blue, 4-door car, make and model unknown. Anyone with information regarding this case should call the Homicide tip-line at (405) 297-1200.
