OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police are investigating a shooting that took place shortly after midnight Wednesday.

Police said officers arrived to the 300 block of S.E. Grand and found a man who had been shot. He was transported to an area hospital, and at last check was listed in critical condition, police said.

According to police, officers determined through interviewing witnesses on the scene that an altercation took place before the shooting took place. They also were given 34-year-old Jeffrey Robert Magill's name as a suspect.

Officers then found, arrested and transported Magill to police headquarters, where he was interviewed and was subsequently booked into the Oklahoma County jail on one count of shooting with intent to kill.

The victim's name was not released.
