OKLAHOMA CITY -- A mandatory outdoor watering ban has been placed on all residences and businesses served by the Hefner Water Treatment Plan. This includes properties North of NW 36th Street and West of Western Avenue, as well as Warr Acres and The Village.

The ban is in place until late Saturday or until further notice.

Water pressures became low after a 36-inch water line on Hefner Road east of Meridian broke Saturday night, causing a 24-inch and 12-inch main in the area to also break.

The ban is helping maintain water pressure in fire protection and drinking water needs.

Repairs are under way and should be completed by late Friday.
