BOLEY, Oklahoma – Police have identified the victim in a weekend shooting in Boley. Officers are continuing to search for the suspects involved in the deadly shooting and robbery.
Sunday afternoon, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Okfuskee County Sheriff officers and the Boley police were in Boley investigating a robbery and homicide.
Boley Police Chief Virgil Green said a car belonging to two people passing through Boley was broken into while they were taking pictures of the school around 12:15 p.m.
The suspects crashed while trying to get away. A helicopter, policemen on horses and dogs were used in searching for the suspects.
Cash was discovered about 12:20 p.m. Sunday, and it appears that he died of a gunshot wound. The victim, Anthony T. Cash of Oklahoma City, was found around 12:20 p.m. He appeared to have died from a gunshot wound.
Police said Cash had been living in Boley only a few weeks.
Chief Green said Cash was a passenger in the vehicle that crashed while speeding away from the Boley school.
Three people were believed to have been involved in the robbery. It is not clear who the shooter was. Police are continuing to search of the two suspects.
Chief Green said the small town is now plagued with rumors of drugs deals gone bad and an undercover drug agent being connected with the robbery and homicide.
