Firefighters Battled Midwest City House Fire

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- Midwest City firefighters responded to a house fire today on the north side of the city.

Firefighters battled the flames in the 1400 block of N. Christine Drive about a block away from Telstar Elementary School.

Fire crews are taking precautions for possible contamination by hosing down firefighters but said they have ruled out the possibility of a meth lab starting the fire.

The house was vacant but had electricity. Witnesses reported seeing people running away from the house just before the blaze.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause.

No injuries were reported.
