KIOWA, Oklahoma -- A former Oklahoma and Texas meteorologist drowned on Tom Steed Reservoir over the weekend.

A boat surfaced in front of a man on the north shore of the lake. The man notified troopers who found the body of Edmund Wallace, 62, inside the boat.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Wallace was fishing near the island in his boat and was alone when he drowned.

Wallace worked at KWSO-TV in Lawton and at KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, Texas.

The State Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the exact cause of death. It was the third drowning in Oklahoma over the weekend.
