OKLAHOMA CITY -- Many renters likely experienced damage to their homes from storms in the last two weeks. However, in order to get those repairs fixed, renters often must make the first move.

Renters need to make a request in writing to their landlord and make sure to keep a copy of the dated request.

The landlord typically has 14 days to make the repairs.

The Metropolitan Fair Housing Council provides instructions on how to request repairs from your landlord.
