Missouri Inmate Charged in 1992 Oklahoma Strangulation

CHANDLER, Oklahoma -- A Missouri prison inmate has been charged with first-degree murder in Oklahoma for the 1992 strangulation of a Tulsa woman.

Fifty-year-old Dennis Ray Wright was charged Wednesday in Lincoln County District Court in the death of 22-year-old Georgette Pless. It was not known whether he had yet hired an attorney.

Pless' naked body was found under a bridge in Lincoln County near where Wright was living at the time.

Authorities say DNA taken from Pless' body has been matched to Wright.

District Attorney Richard Smothermon says Wright is in prison in Missouri for fraud.
