SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -- Shawnee police have made an arrest in the death of a 71-year-old man.

The body of Jimmie Leroy Simon was found Wednesday in the bedroom of his home. State medical examiner's spokeswoman Cherokee Ballard says Simon had been stabbed in the neck, chest and abdomen.

Peter Stephen Floch, 33, was arrest at 1 a.m. Friday in connection to the death. He is being held at the Pottawatomie County jail on a complaint of first degree murder.

Simon's son -- Jeff Simon -- says it appears his father was writing a letter to another son who is prison when he was killed. Jeff Simon says the bloody letter was found near his father's body.
