OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities are resuming their search of tornado ravaged areas of the metro.

Oklahoma City Deputy Fire Chief Cecil Clay said crews will conduct a secondary search of an about 49-square mile area of damage. Crews will search for victims and survivors in the area.

Oklahoma City police have secured four neighborhoods with extensive damage. Residents will need to provide identification to get into Heritage Estates, Deerfield Estates, Deerfield West and Liberty Creek.

Oklahoma County Brian Maughan said a large portion of the damaged areas are in unincorporated areas of Oklahoma County.

These more rural areas do not have municipal emergency crews to help with the response. Maughan said the damage is so extensive that county crews will need help from the public.

Anyone who wants to help is asked to report to the Oklahoma County District 2 Barn, 7501 S. Anderson Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

"We would appreciate any help at all," Maughan said.

At least 21 tornadoes were reported across Oklahoma on Monday, killing 5 people.
