Child Drowns After Trying to Reach Toy in Pool

NINNEKAH, Oklahoma -- A toddler has died after falling into a pool Thursday evening at a home in Ninnekah.

Police said 2-year-old Byron Neely fell into the pool around 7:30 p.m. when he was trying to get a ball out of the water. An officer said he tried to resuscitate the boy but was unsuccessful.

Byron was transported to a hospital where he died Friday morning.
