Woman Dies in Single-Vehicle Accident

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Police responded to a single-vehicle accident near S.W. 134th Street and Interstate 44 Thursday afternoon.

According to police, at about 1:30 p.m. the driver of the vehicle, 66-year-old Patricia Ireton, was northbound on I-44 approaching S.W. 134th Street when she suffered a medical episode. Ireton drove off the roadway to the right, up an embankment and then back onto the roadway where the vehicle came to rest.

Ireton's vehicle did not strike any other vehicles, police said.

According to police, Ireton was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
