NEWTON COUNTY, MO -- An Edmond man is in a Missouri jail after he led law enforcement on a three state police chase before sideswiping a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper over the weekend.

Vinita Police say 43-year-old John Bristow had left a bar without paying his tab.  After getting into his car, Bristow struck a light post in front of the Vinita Police station.

He was chased by Vinita Police into Chetopa, Kansas where Kansas law enforcement picked up the chase.  From Chetopa, Bristow drove east into Baxter Springs at speeds of 100 MPH.

After passing through Baxter Springs, Bristow drove into Missouri on I-44.

Missouri authorities say Bristow was traveling east in the westbound lanes where he sideswiped a Missouri state trooper and lost one of his tires.

Bristow is now facing charges in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri.  Those charges include leaving the scene of an accident, driving while intoxicated and assault on law enforcement.
