OKLAHOMA CITY -- Strong storms are moving through the state overnight with the main threat being strong winds, small hail and frequent lightning.

A tornado watch was placed in effect until 4 a.m. Friday and stretches as far east as Canadian, Grady and Logan counties in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.

The storms should clear the metro by early Friday morning and will continue to move eastward out of the state by Friday afternoon.

Friday's forecast will be windy with winds out of the south at 15 to 30 mph. Temperatures will be mild with highs in the 70s.

Severe thunderstorms began in the Oklahoma Panhandle Thursday afternoon and slowly expanded east and south. A tornado warning was issued for Beaver County, but there was no report that anything touched down.
