EDMOND, Oklahoma – Police and local FBI agents are searching for a bank robbery suspect of an Edmond bank at about 10 a.m. Thursday.

Edmond police were notified by the alarm company as well as a 911 call from employees about the robbery at the Bank of the West on Santa Fe Avenue, just south of Danforth Road.

During the incident, employees were forced to the back of bank by the suspect with a handgun and were locked inside a vault area. It is unclear if the suspect got away on foot or in a car.

One employee was hit in the head by the suspect with the handgun but received only minor injuries and did not need to be treated by medical personnel.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'9" tall with a husky build. He was wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt which may have had "Oklahoma" scrolled across the front and blue jeans. The man also wore a black ski mask and black gloves. He carried a grey and yellow backpack.

The FBI has not released if the suspect got away with any money or property. Agents believe the bank robbery suspect could be associated with other robberies throughout the metro including three Bank of the West robberies in Norman and two robberies at Bank of Oklahoma banks on N.W. Expressway.

If you know anything about this bank robbery, call the FBI at 290-7770. You may remain anonymous.

The Oklahoma Banker's Association is offering a reward of up to $2,000.
