CHOCTAW, Oklahoma – Two earthquakes were reported in less than 24 hours in eastern Oklahoma.
No injuries were reported when a magnitude 2.6 earthquake struck near Choctaw. The Oklahoma Geological Survey recorded the quake at 8:11 p.m. Tuesday about 15 miles east of Oklahoma City.
A 2.5 magnitude quake was reported shortly before noon today. The epicenter was about 3 miles southeast of Jones, according to the Oklahoma Geological Survey.
Researchers say quakes of 2.5 to 3.0 magnitude quakes are typically the smallest felt by humans.
