OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City firefighters rescued a man trapped inside his burning home Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters performed a "vent/enter/search" for the rescue at the home on N. Florida Avenue. Deputy Fire Chief Cecil Clay said that within approximately seven minutes of receiving the alarm, the fire crew was able to help the victim out of a second story bathroom window. another crew was able to put the fire out.
The victim, a man described as in his twenties, sustained first-degree burns to his chest and hands. He was taken to an area hospital. The victim's name has not been released.
Firefighters believe decorative party lights could have caused the blaze.
There were three smoke detectors inside the home but none were working.
