Sen. Tom Coburn Comments Criticized

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma U.S. Senator Tom Coburn is getting attention for comments he made.

The conservative not only defends Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but he also criticizes Fox News.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Coburn referred to Pelosi as a nice lady during a recent town hall meeting in Oklahoma. Many in the crowd groaned.

Coburn responded by saying, "Just because somebody disagrees with you, doesn't mean they're not a good person."

Coburn warned the audience to be wary about health care information they get on just Fox News, to get their news from a wide range of sources saying, "Don't just watch Fox News or CNN, watch them both."

He went on by saying, "What we have to have is make sure we have a debate in this country so you can see what's going on and make a determination yourself."

Coburn says that although he strongly disagrees with the new health care law and many administration policies he also has friendly ties with President Barack Obama which doesn't sit well with conservative activists.
