OKLAHOMA CITY -- If you or someone you know is running in the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, there's an app for that.
Oklahoma City-based technology company Phase 2 Interactive launched an iPhone application today that allows participants and fans to track a runner in real time, view interactive race courses and get other information about the Memorial Marathon on April 25.
"We are excited to offer this new iPhone app to our runners and fans," said Thomas Hill, president of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. "This app provides instant information at your fingertips whether you're a runner or a fan along the course looking to cheer on a friend or family member."
The app is free and can be downloaded at Apple's App Store.
OKBlitz.com's Toby Rowland and NEWS 9's Rusty Surette will run in the OKC Memorial Marathon as part of a 5-member NEWS 9 relay team. Track their progress on race day by searching their names on the OKC Memorial Marathon app.
App Features:
Interactive Map – Find water spots, mile makers, first aid stations, start and finish locations using the map and a GPS-enabled device.
Race Information – Details each of the races and information about the Expo and pre-race gatherings.
BIB Tracking – Real time BIB number tracking will allow users to track a runner during the race so they can be there to support them and know their times at the splits for their race.
