TULSA, OK -- Tulsa went to the dogs Saturday.

Nearly 1,000 pooches from all over the country are in town for the National Agility Championship.

One dog in the competition is Bounce, and he lives up to that name. He zigs, he zags, he jumps and he can run -- fast.

"Any breed can do this, not any breed will do it," said Lisa Bycroft, a volunteer.

The Australian Shepherd may just have what it takes. All of the dogs had to qualify to make it to nationals, which is being held at the Tulsa Fairgrounds.

"He's been training since he's a baby," said Sally Silverman, Bounce's trainer.

Bounce is just one of nearly 1,000 dogs from across the country, 80 breeds, competing.

"There's people here from Alaska to Florida, to New York to California," said Silverman.

And they all come for a chance at a title.

"Well you know, now here we are and we drove to Oklahoma for four days," said Silverman.

"We love this place, we love this arena," said Geoff Teare, a trainer.

Treats for the dog, bragging rights for the owners and that's what it's all about. This is one event where going to the dogs is a good thing.

The show runs through Sunday, March 28. It's at the livestock complex at Expo Square from 7:00 until 5:00. Admission is free.
