Winds Sweeping into State, Wild Fire Threat Increase This Weekend

For Saturday, strong winds and an increased threat of wild fires. Sunday will be a bit less windy and will be somewhat cool.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- For Saturday, strong winds and an increased threat of wild fires. Sunday will be a bit less windy and will be somewhat cool.

Oklahoma winds, first out of the south will blow in from the west and northwest at 20 to 40 mph with gusts 50+ mph at times, as the day progresses. With such strong winds, a few power outages are possible.

The fire danger will be high Saturday. Most any wild fire will be very difficult to contain and could become a significant threat.

There is a very slight chance of a few thunderstorms on Saturday. The next best chance will be approximately next Friday.
