President Pledges Mortgage Relief for Unemployed Americans

OKLAHOMA CITY -- President Obama is pushing a new initiative that would cut or eliminate home mortgage payment for unemployed borrowers.

The Treasury Department is making adjustments to the Home Affordable Modification Program and the Federal Housing Administration. Details are still being worked out.

What's not clear is when the measure would go into effect and what states would immediately benefit.
