OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma woman slid off an icy road yesterday in Payne County and miraculously, walked away without a scratch. It was an accident NEWS 9's storm chaser Val Castor drove up on.

"This SUV was driving west of Highway 51 and slide off the road went down into an embankment and crashed through a metal fence," Castor said.

At that moment, a pipe slammed into the windshield traveling the length of the car until it busted out the back window. Tia Wallace was driving with her fiancé in the front seat.

"I don't have a scratch on me," Tia Wallace said.

It was a real miracle considering the pole hit where Tia's head should have been.

"There's chunks of my hair on the pole. Between the headrest and, like I said, God's guardian angel must have just pushed me out of the way. There's no way to explain what happened besides God's timing. That's it. I should not probably be alive today," Wallace said.

Wallace is a visiting assistant professor at OSU and said the accident has forced her to put things into perspective.

"To realize those worldly things we worry about, having fancy things, nice cars, how much money do you have in the bank, none of that matters when you're in situations like this. That's the last thing you think of," Wallace said.
