OKLAHOMA CITY – Because of Spring Break and the NCAA games, thousands flocked to several venues in the metro, including the zoo, on Friday.

The Oklahoma City National Memorial was packed all day with visitors from all over the state and all around the country enjoying the warm weather while it lasts.

"We knew we wanted to catch this Memorial, it's a part of the national life that my kids didn't know too much about because they were really young," fan Brian Cook said.

Many of the visitors who are in Oklahoma City are in town for the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. The Cook family is cheering on a member of their family.

"I'm kinda excited to just see my brothers play again tomorrow," Cook said.

But, the Cooks weren't planning on the cold weather.

"We packed our shorts and today is 68 degrees and figured, yeah, that's why we packed these shorts, then we looked at tomorrow and thought we should've brought our winter jackets, too," Brian Cook said.

There's also been a big jump in visitors checking out the Oklahoma City Zoo, among other things on the to-do list.

"We may go see a movie this evening; "Alice in Wonderland," and see the Omniplex and Aunt Christi and Uncle Jay may go gambling later on," visitor E.G. Herl said.

While they're doing what they can to keep the entire family happy, one basketball fan is playing it safe from the snow.

"We're actually going to stay an extra day because we were going to go home and come back, but just to avoid the snow and everything, we're going to hang out in Oklahoma City," Herl said.

Whether or not Old Man Winter is planning to make a comeback this weekend, one diehard fan is all about one thing only.

"I'm more concerned about KU getting the win than the drive home," said a Jayhawk fan. "We can make the drive; we just want KU to get the win."

Tickets are still on sale for second round games in Oklahoma City at the Ford Center box office or at ticketmaster.com.
