PAULS VALLEY -- A Pauls Valley man is accused of breaking into churches to use computers to look at porn.

Nate Christian, 21, was arrested last week on four complaints of burglary. Police said he is suspect of breaking into four churches at least eight different times.

The four churches, all in Pauls Valley, are Trinity Baptist Church, First Assembly Church of God, Saint Catherine Catholic Church, and Church of Christ.

Police say a check of the churches computers revealed they had been used to look at pornographic sites. Investigators said they arrested Christian because the computers had been used to log in to his Facebook and MySpace pages.

In addition to the pornography Web sites, Pauls Valley police said the churches' phones were used to dial 1-900 numbers. About $300 in phone charges were racked up at the First Assembly Church of God.

Pastor Brad Nicar of First Assembly Church of God said one of their computers had some "2,000 pages of porn."

"It's sacred ground and most people wouldn't do that and so for someone who is that desperate has a problem," Pastor Nicar said. "I am praying for the guy. I'm hoping he gets some help and that's my prayer for him, that he will get some help."

In 2008, Christian was arrested for forging checks totaling $7,000 from a church in Katie, Okla. In addition to the forgery charge, police said they think Christian had also been accessing the church's computers to look at porn.

Police say when they went to Christian's home to arrest him they also discovered two laptops that two of the churches had reported stolen.

Pauls Valley Police Chief Robbins said Christian remains in jail on four counts of burglary, but the chief expects additional charges will be filed.
