Trial Date for Man Accused in 5 Deaths Rescheduled

EL RENO, Oklahoma -- A man accused of killing his girlfriend and her four children is scheduled to go on trial Sept. 13.

The proceeding for Joshua Steven Durcho had been set to begin April 5, but the date was canceled. The new trial date was scheduled Tuesday during a meeting between Canadian County District Judge Gary E. Miller and attorneys.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for the 27-year-old Durcho.

He is accused of strangling 25-year-old Summer Garas; 7-year-olds Kirsten and Autumn Rust; 3-year-old Evynn Garas and 4-year-old Teagin Rust.

Summer Garas' body was found Jan. 12, 2009, in a bedroom of the family's El Reno apartment.

The children's bodies were discovered stacked in a bathtub.
