Mark Clayton left the University of Oklahoma as the team's all-time leader in receiving yards with 3,241. He played for the crimson and white from 2001-2004. He redshirted during the Sooners 2000 national championship season.

Clayton was named Al Big 12 and All-American after both his junior and senior seasons. He set team records across the board with 83 receptions, 1,425 yards receiving, and 15 touchdowns during his junior year.

He was the 22nd player selected in the 2005 NFL draft, going to the Baltimore Ravens. His best season came in 2005 when he hauled in 67 passes for 939 yards and 5 touchdowns.
