Nicknamed "A.D" (for all-day), Adrian Peterson is among the elite players of the National Football League. The Palestine, Texas running back came north of the Red River to attend the University of Oklahoma in 2004. He set the NCAA freshman rushing record with 1,925 yards. He was named a first-team All-American and finished as the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. He missed four games during his sophomore year, but still rushed for 1,208 yards. He was named to the All-Big 12 Conference team. He rushed for 1,112 yards his junior year, despite again, missing multiple games with a collarbone injury. He left OU after his junior year for the NFL draft. He left OU as the university's second-leading rusher with 4,045 yards, just 73 short of Billy Sims' total.

Adrian was chosen by the Minnesota Vikings with the seventh pick in the 2007 draft. He captured the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award and the Pro Bowl MVP. Hw was also named to the All-Pro team. He finished second in the league with 1,341 rushing yards. He also set the NFL record for rushing yards in one game when he ran for 296 against the San Diego Chargers.

He upped his yardage in 2008 with a career-best 1,760 yards. He again was named to the All-Pro team.

2009 represented the best for his Minnesota Viking team. With the addition of Brett Favre, the Vikings played in the NFC Championship game , losing to the New Orleans Saints. Adrian rushed 1,383 yards and was named All-Pro and played in his third Pro Bowl.

Adrian has two children and currently lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
