Web Site Launches in OKC: Save Money, Try New Businesses

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A new way to save money and try different businesses has hit Oklahoma City.

Groupon.com recently launched it's Oklahoma City division. The idea behind the business is the power of collective buying, which is why the name comes from a blend of the words "group" and "coupon."

The Web site offers a deal in the city, daily. If enough people sign up to purchase the deal, it becomes effective.

Bricktown Brewery was the inaugural business for Oklahoma City. The restaurant had a deal on groupon.com last week. Twenty people had to agree to purchase the deal in order for the groupon to become valid. They had nearly 300 people participate in the deal.

"It's great. That's more than 200 customers we may not have had. This gets people in our doors, and hopefully we give them a reason to come back," said Cory Grey, an employee at the Bricktown Brewery.

Groupon.com doesn't just offer restaurant deals but deals to all kinds of businesses including yoga studios and spas.
