Another Earthquake Recorded Near Jones

JONES, Oklahoma – Another earthquake shook towns east of the metro Sunday night.

The 2.8 magnitude earthquake happened around a mile east of Jones.

More than 43 earthquakes were recorded in Oklahoma in 2009, an unusually high number. According to the Oklahoma Geological Survey, 27 of the felt earthquakes occurred in Oklahoma County, and another seven were located in Lincoln County.

Three earthquakes have been recorded near Jones since the start of 2010.
