NORMAN, Oklahoma -- A Norman man accused in the murders of three women faces the death penalty.

Four witnesses have now testified for the state about the events of September 4, 2007. William Eugene Davis, 53, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

He is accused of the shotgun killings of 52-year-old Tami Link, 56-year-old Sheila Ellis and Link's mother-in-law, Letannah Bishop, in Norman.

The women were the wife, mother and sister-in-law of Brent Link.

Brent Link, who's legally blind, has testified how he wrestled the shotgun from Davis, his brother-in-law, and how he then beat Davis into submission.

"Without him doing what he did, there's no doubt in my mind other deaths would have occurred," said NEWS 9 legal analyst Irven Box. "This testimony was some of the most dramatic compelling testimony that I've heard. Here a man without sight goes to where a shotgun blast is going off, grabs the barrel feels where it is still warm, eventually takes down, disarms and chokes, tries to choke to death the person that's perpetrating the crimes."

Prosecutors said Davis came to the house that day intending to kill everyone in the family.

David has pleaded not guilty. Davis' attorney said his bipolar disorder and alcoholism made it impossible for him to know he was killing.

The state has about 12 more witnesses and expects to conclude its case on Thursday.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
