MARLOW, Oklahoma -- Lines stretched down the street for people trying to get gas in Marlow. Marlow is one of several Stephens County towns who are without power.

The only place to get gas in Marlow was at Gina's gas station. Many people tried to fuel up there generators in hopes of getting some power back on in their homes.

"I've been waiting an hour and a half trying to get gas," said Anne Sanchez, Marlow resident.

Whether everyone will be able to get gas isn't a guarantee, said Gina's gas station manager.

Numerous trees covered in ice caused limbs to break, many of which fell on power lines knocking out power to thousands of people.

As a result of the power outage, the City of Duncan and the Red Cross set up a massive shelter on the city's fairground. For most of the day Friday, officials worked around the clock providing residents with beds and warm meals.

Officials said, hands down, this has been their biggest emergency situation ever.

"Last night there was 50 that stayed, but we've had about 180 register tonight and we've fed over 500 at lunch," said Stephens County Emergency Management Director Gary Ball.

Officials said residents in Stephens County will likely not get power back until Monday, but for some residents is could be weeks before power is restored.

Marlow police said despite numerous rumors, the city is not in short supply of water.
