PURCELL, Oklahoma -- The weight of ice is bringing down trees and power lines in southern Oklahoma.
The entire City of Purcell lost power Thursday. As of 9:30 p.m., only 20 of the city's 6,000 residents, had power back on.
"I was sitting on the front porch and watched it fall," Steve Botemra said.
Broken branches and tree limbs covered streets along the entrance to Purcell.
"There's destruction everywhere," said Jay Nauman, Purcell's City Manager. "Those tree limbs are falling; one of them almost hit me."
Nauman says they are working as quickly as possible to get the electricity back on.
