OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City officials are advising vehicle owners to retrieve cars and trucks stranded during last week's blizzard or face having them towed.
City officials say they have towed about 150 vehicles at the owner's expense since Friday. They say most of the towed vehicles were reported by citizens as a traffic hazard.
Hundreds of cars were left stranded on Oklahoma roadways, medians and shoulders after a blizzard pounded the state with record snowfall on Christmas Eve.
Vehicle owners are being encouraged to retrieve their vehicles or, if their cars remain buried in a drift, to make their own towing arrangements.
According to the city of Oklahoma City the cost to recover a vehicle is typically between $85 and $200 and varies depending on car type and the state in which it was left.
People can call 297-1189 to locate their vehicle.
