Man Shot by Norman Officer Remains Hospitalized

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- A man who was shot by a Norman police officer Friday remains hospitalized.

Franklin Hodge, of Norman, is listed in critical condition at OU Medical Center.

Norman Master Police Officer Jennifer Newell said police officers responded to a disturbance involving Hodge at a home in northeast Norman about 3:10 a.m. Friday.

Newell said Hodge was found in a field less than a mile away and was believed to be armed when he was shot by a Norman officer.

The officer who shot Hodge remains on paid administrative leave.
