EDMOND, Oklahoma -- A teenager is dead following a car accident in Edmond. The accident happened December 6 at I-35 northbound near S.E. 15th Street.

A GMC 1500 pickup driven by 22-year-old Isaias Hernandez-Bueno of Oklahoma City was traveling northbound on I-35 when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled an unknown number of times, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

The passenger, 16-year-old Angelica Gutierrez of Edmond, was ejected from the vehicle. According to the OHP report, EMSA transported the teen to OU Medical, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver, Isaias Hernandez-Bueno, was transported for hand injuries and was released.

Seatbelts were not in use at the time of the accident, according to the OHP report.
