TULSA, OK -- Most of the students injured in a South Tulsa school bus crash have been treated and released from the hospital.

Two Jenks school buses were involved in an accident at about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday near 91st and College, according to police.

Police say a Jenks school bus and several other cars had come to a stop, near 91st and College. A second school bus tried to stop, but couldn't, smashing into the first bus.

According to EMSA, 14 grade school students were reporting injuries.

Seven EMSA units responded to the scene. EMSA took the students to hospitals -- seven to Saint Francis, four to Southcrest and three to St. John's. The students were between six and 10-years-old.

According to EMSA, none of the patients had life-threatening injuries. They were transported in fair condition.

School officials say three students underwent x-rays as a precaution, but the rest were allowed to go home.

Jenks schools will be conducting an investigation into what caused the accident.

EMSA reports this is, by far, the largest response they have had to a single scene in years.
