NORMAN, Oklahoma -- For the fourth straight year the annual Fill the Trolley competition at OU showed the Holiday spirit is alive and well. It also showed caring and sharing can start at any age.

The clock is ticking. Only three weeks to Christmas. So Santa and his elves stopped by OU to pick up gifts for good boys and girls.

Every year departments at OU compete to see who can fill up boxes with the most toys.

"Really, we haven't had any problem at all with people wanting to bring things in," said Jenny Kirby with OU Federal Credit Union. "We've participated with this a couple of years now."

The goal is to fill the OU trolley with gifts for the Christmas Store of Cleveland County. That's why Santa came all the way from the North Pole.

"Santa Claus is a big Fill the Trolley fan," said Kris Glenn with the Cleveland County Area Rapid Transit. "As soon as we said we're trying to fill four trolleys for the first time ever, he said 'I'm on board.'"

Santa has a young helper this year. That's 10-year-old Payton Otto from All Saints Catholic School. Payton wanted to help the Christmas Store. So he organized a fund raiser at a Norman skating rink. He raised more than $400.

"We want to help because we don't want to be the only ones who have fun with Christmas," said Payton. "We want all the people in the world to have Christmas."

There is one trolley emptied and there are three more to fill. Santa and his elves have more work to do between now and Christmas Eve.
